A casualty on the tracks was reported to police just before 5.20pm yesterday (August 1).
Officers and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: Officers were called to East Croydon Station at 5.18pm yesterday, Tuesday August 1, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Thameslink Railway tweeted: “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train at East Croydon.
“All lines are blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident.”
