A video of the chaos was taken by a passerby at around 1pm today (August 11).
The video displays multiple ambulances and fire engines at the scene, as well as dozens of people stood outside the hospital.
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade says the team responded to an automatic fire alarm at the hospital.
The fire brigade has confirmed it was not a gas leak.
