On July 16 at around 4:55pm the victim, a woman, got off a train at East Croydon station with her husband and daughter.
A man who left the same train reportedly jogged up beside the victim, before pushing her into the Perspex shelter window.
Police say he left the station on a train heading to Hastings in Kent.
The victim was left with injuries including a fractured cheek bone, a cut to her chin and facial bruising.
British Transport Police say the man in the CCTV images may have information to help with their investigation.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Detectives investigating an assault that left a woman with a fractured cheek are today releasing these CCTV images in connection.
“At around 4.55pm on Sunday, 16 July, the victim left a train at East Croydon station with her husband and daughter.
“A man left the same train and jogged along platform 4 to catch up the victim. Once walking side by side with her, he pushed the victim over into a Perspex shelter window.
“He then left the station on a train Hastings via Kent.
“The victim was left with a fractured cheek bone, a deep cut to her chin, and bruising to the face.
“Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information that could help with their investigation.
