Alejandro Beltran Bejarano, of Denmark Road in Southwark, admitted being behind the wheel of a Renault Trafic van on Sayer Street in Walworth which was not displaying L plates.
The 50-year-old only held a provisional licence and was also not insured.
Alejandro also admitted using a phone while at the wheel.
At a sentencing hearing at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on August 10 Alejandro was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.
Alejandro was also fined £779, told to pay a £311 surcharge and costs of £150.
