He was freed from the car by London Fire Brigade crews.
The road was closed but has since reopened.
London Ambulance Service took the driver to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 4.47am on Thursday, 6 July to reports of an overturned car at the junction of Croydon Lane and Carshalton Road in Banstead.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade.
“The driver of the car was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.”
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “London Fire Brigade crews responded to reports of an overturned car at the junction of Croydon Lane and Carshalton Road in Banstead.
“One man was released from the car by crews before he was taken to the hospital by London Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters from Purley, Wallington and Croydon fire stations attended the scene.”
