PC Tom Thorpe is charged with attempting to cause a child under 13 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
He is also charged with three counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
PC Thorpe was a serving officer in the Met’s South Area Basic Command Unit, which covers Bromley, Sutton and Croydon, when the crimes were alleged to have taken place.
He was arrested on December 6, 2019 and was charged on February 22, 2021.
PC Thorpe was suspended from duty after his arrest and resigned from the force in September 2022.
He is due to appear for trial at Kingston Crown Court on Monday (July 17).
